More about Patek Philippe 5575G-001 175th Anniversary World Time Moonphase 18K White Gold / Black Dial

This is an 18K white gold Patek Philippe 175th Anniversary World Time Moon 5575-001. It has an alligator leather strap with a fold-over clasp engraved with “PATEK PHILIPPE 1839 – 2014” and with the Calatrava cross in the center. It has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and a solid snap-on case back engraved with “PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE 175e Anniversaire 1839 – 2014.” The 40mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lapidated lugs, and angled bezel are polished. It has a recessed winding crown and a rectangular pushbutton on the band at 10 o'clock that adjusts the two rotating discs that simultaneously shows all 24 time zones with a single push. The very realistic moon turns clockwise at the center of the dial, against a star-studded night sky, an effect accomplished with two ultra-thin disks of mineral glass. The moon, on the lower disk, completes a rotation in a lunar month. The fixed upper disk shows the changing visible portion of the moon every night with precision accuracy. There is a black and silver outer revolving 24-hour-disc for the day and night hours, and a red triangle indicates the selected city/zone. The dial is gloss black with gold star and feuille hands, with luminescent dot hour index markers. It has a 48-hour power reserve at full wind, and it's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet. The 9.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Patek Philippe 17th Anniversay World Time Moon 5575G-001 has a mechanical automatic self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 240 HU LU movement that's rhodium plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's stamped with the Patek Philippe seal, and it's constructed with 35 jewels, 270 components, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a Gyromax balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, and a 22K gold micro-rotor. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

The Patek Philippe 17th Anniversay World Time Moon 5575G-001 was introduced in 2014 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the company.
