More about Omega 311. Speedmaster Professional Apollo XIII Silver Snoopy Award SS LIMITED

This is a stainless steel Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo XIII Silver Snoopy Award 311. It has a black, coated nylon and leather strap with a foldover push-release clasp, and a sapphire crystal. There is a solid screw-down case back with an applied silver Snoopy on a silver plate filled with dark blue enamel and silver power representing stars. Engraved in black on the outer ring of the case back is "Silver Snoopy Award", "Eyes On The Stars", "45th Anniversary", "0275/1970", "Apollo XIII". There is a fixed, polished black ceramic bezel with a graduated tachymeter to 500 UPH, round chronograph pushbuttons, and a winding crown with the Omega logo protected by crown guards. The 42mm diameter solid three-body case and lyre lugs are polished/brushed. The dial is white with superluminova baton hour markers around a minute/one-fifth seconds perimeter scale, luminous baton hands, and a center sweep chronograph hand with a luminous arrow tip. There are three subsidiary dials including a constant small seconds register at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute sub dial is at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 50 meters/167 feet, and it has a power reserve of 48-hours at full wind. The 14.8mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 1861 movement is rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a micrometer regulator.

The Omega Speedmaster Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award pays homage to the Apollo 13 mission and celebrates the teamwork, ingenuity, and courage that brought the NASA astronauts of the mission home safely.
