More about F. P. Journe Centigraphe Sport Aluminum / Bracelet

This is an aluminum FP Journe Centigraphe Sport on an aluminum bracelet. The solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and rounded bezel are brushed. It has a sapphire crystal lens and exhibition back secured with 6 screws. There is a foudryonte display at 10 o'clock, and the chronograph is capable of timing 1/100th second intervals (or an object moving 360,000 Km/hour), while the lever starts/stops, and resets the chronograph. The dial is gray with silver luminous Journe hands and painted luminous radial Arabic numeral index markers. A trio of silver guilloche subsidiary displays includes the 1-second aperture at 10 o'clock, the 20-second at 2 o'clock, and the 10-minute at 6; and each has a window displaying parts of the movement underneath. Each has a time scale in red, and a tachymeter in black. It has an 80-hour power reserve at full wind without engaging the chronograph, and 24-hours with the chronograph running. The 10.5mm thick dial, case, movement, and bracelet are all signed.

This FP Journe Centigraphe Sport has a mechanical manual winding F.P. Journe caliber 1506 movement that's gold with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 49 jewels, 259 components, a shock absorber mechanism, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic 4-arm balance with 4 timing weights that are adjusted to 5 positions, and an anachron self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. The mechanism oscillates at 21,600 vph. (3 Hz).

The FP Journe Centigraphe Sport was introduced in 2008, and it received the “Aiguille d’Or” at the 2008 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, as well as the “Watch of the Year” on Timezone.com. In 2009 it won the “Best Technique Innovation Watch” at the Champions of Time competition in China.
