This IWC Portofino Hand Wound Eight Days IW510102 has a mechanical manual winding caliber 59210 movement that's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 30 jewels, a shock absorber mechanism, and a self-compensating Breguet flat balance spring. It has a hacking seconds mechanism for precision time setting, and the movement oscillates at 28,800 vph.

The IWC Portofino Hand Wound Eight Days IW510102 was first produced in 2011, with the new IWC 59210-calibre movement, the first hand-wound watch from Schaffhausen that will run reliably and accurately for 192 hours – 8 days. It actually will run 9 days, but it's automatically designed to stop before exhausting the spring tension in the mainspring.
