More about Tudor 74000 Oyster Prince White Linen Dial Automatic 34MM

This is a stainless steel vintage Tudor Oyster Prince 34 74000. It has a leather strap with a Stainless Steel tang buckle, and a domed plexiglass crystal. It has a screw down winding crown, and a solid screw down case back engraved with "ORIGINAL OYSTER CASE BY ROLEX GENEVA," and the Rolex crown hallmark. Inside the case back is stamped "MONTRES TUDOR SA. – GENEVA SWITZERLAND – STAINLESS STEEL – 74000 – C.R.S." The 34mm diameter solid two-body case, straight lugs, and angled bezel, are polished/brushed. The dial is white linen with applied faceted steel hour indices and luminous pips around a perimeter black minute/second scale. It has steel baton hands with luminous inserts, a center sweep second hand, and there is a quick-set date aperture window with a Cyclops magnification lens at the 3 o'clock position. It's water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet, and the 10mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Tudor Oyster Prince 34 74000 has a mechanical automatic self-winding ETA 2824-2 movement. It's rhodium plated with cotes de Geneve and oeil-de-perdrix embellishment. It's constructed with 25 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a Glucydor monometallic balance. There is a shock absorber device, a self-compensating flat balance spring, a hacking mechanism for precision time setting, an index regulator, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The Tudor Oyster Prince 34 74000 was introduced c. 1970.
