This Panerai Radiomir S.L.C 3 Day PAM00449 has a mechanical manual winding Panerai caliber P.3000 in-house movement. It's constructed with 21 jewels, 160 components, and twin barrels mounted in series. It includes a monometallic Glucydur balance. It includes an Incabloc anti-shock mechanism, and the mechanism oscillates at 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

This Panerai Radiomir S.L.C 3 Day PAM00449 was introduced in 2012 in a limited edition of 750 examples. It's a tribute to the history of Officine Panerai and to the prototype created by them in 1936 for the commandos of the Royal Italian Navy. This version harkens back to the 1930's Panerai model with the first sandwich dial construction, in which two plates were filled with a layer of luminous material (currently Super-LumiNova®), allowing the luminescence to show through apertures corresponding to the index markers cut in the upper plate. S.L.C. refers to “Siluro a Lento Corsa,” the slow-speed torpedo ridden by commandos of the Royal Italian Navy on their underwater missions. The inscription “S.L.C.” is engraved on the flange at 12 o’clock.
